Here are some details: Square was quick to sign up, and quick to take my money for a piece of hardware. Square Up solidified itself as the worst experience to date I have had with a card processor.

Square is in the business of somehow legalized thievery, 99% of the time I say I will just avoid a business and go my separate way: but at this rate, I have to communicate the message. They are high profile thieves, worse even than the guy who pulled a gun on me. I cannot express my resentment of this company enough.

I still have not seen my money, although they clearly have the funds and I guarantee that they are using these types of circumstances to collect floating interest. I had to pay him out of pocket DOUBLE just to get him out of there and away from my customer and regular employees. Their customer service makes it impossible to reach a human at this stage: they flag tour phone number and have a prerecorded message that more or less says "sorry, you're SOL." You cannot imagine how this impacted my business and what's even worse… When I was unable to pay my workers, I had one maniacal laborer yelling at me and showing me he had a gun in his vehicle. Square did not help me: they took their time reviewing the information and finally sent me an email saying that my account was closed, I cannot use Square, and I will not see those funds for several months. They asked for supplemental information verifying the parties and purpose of the transaction- I provided everything I had and some things that were "optional" but not mandatory as well. Square decided that they were going to place a hold on the transfer, which was over one thousand dollars so I figured it would be a few days at least. The 2nd biggest job I have done for my growing small company, and I needed to run a credit card. I used the square app for the first time when I was in a pinch and could not use Venmo or Cash App, etc. If you're a small business please don't make my mistake it can cost you everything you've worked for. Not 1 return, dispute or negative review and they crippled my and my employees lively hood. Yet they still haven't given me my money yet that was in my account. In 2 minutes they review all that and deactivated my account, forcing me to refund customers and look like an idiot. My business is crippled and they have absolutely no 24 support, yet they can review all my bank statements, llc info, invoices created and delivered on their platform and I even included my Home Depot spending summary with job invoices that match their records. After I sent in all the requested documentation, 2 minutes later my account is deactivated. After a 10 hour day of hard work, these guys who had no problem taking my fees, my hard earned money and then withhold my deposits.

As I'm freaking out wondering how to pay my crew the next day and getting all the legal documentation they asked for. Suspended account in the middle of the night, I'm a contractor and painter.
