The game is played on a 3×4 network the player plays their cards into the base column, while their adversary plays a card game early into the top line, and afterward are naturally moved into play into the center line on the following turn. The actual game is broken into three demonstrations, where the idea of this deck-building game changes, however, the key principles of how the game is played continue as before. Instead of turning you into a deathcard, you are granted a chance to make a boon out of the ones you collected.

To make up for the growing amount of cards, there is another encounter similar to the bone lord shrine that tears a card back into its spoils and a minor boon. if you take the spoils of war and a card to the surgeon, they will let you stitch on up to three of the spoils right then (all three can be added in the same operation) and get the attached sigils. Instead of sacrificing cards for sigils, you will occasionally get a spoil of war from an enemy card and choose either it or the defeated card itself. I had an idea for a Magnificus mod, but it is more something neat than tying into his personality. And probably have been even better imo, ngl. The whole thing coulda played out with nothing more than Leshy, P-04, and OLD_DATA imo. Why introduce these other scrybes (and present them as equally important as the others) then just barely use them? I say it's possibly because developing their games was really damn hard. Honestly though, I'm betting we don't get their games in massive part due to their games not operating well. idk maybe survival elements could be at play? Maybe crafting could be a thing, stitching together resources from waht you find in the tombs, that could be fun.

However many rooms, go through and do movement puzzles, gather cards from the board and build up to the floor boss. We get a lil taste of Grimora's game directly. We get a taste of his playstyle, painting onto cards etc and that's probably sufficient to deduce that his game would feature it somewhat heavily.

Yeah yeah, it's done in Act 2, but maybe something with leveling and modifying your cards as you go. I like to think that one of them would have a lil RPG-esque thing going on. Most would just add a sigil, some may buff/nerf stats and some may replace costs/sigils. Upgrades would be in the form of "equipment/class changes" most cards (talking & non-talking) would have an "equipment" slot and different equipment would do different things. There would be a cast of several characters that you could meet & befriend to have them join your party as talking cards with their own stats (and a few with sigils). Since Magnificus turns his pupils into cards, you would do the same. Also since Grimoria's act 2 thing was cards coming back from the dead, they'd prob have some way to get a card from your last run with a slight change. You would lose everything like Leshys but gain a budget based off of how well you did last time.

Upon death you go back to "the tavern you were at before the dungeon". I can see Grimora's ones being like those 2d topdown roguelike ones where you go floor by floor through a dungeon.
